A LONG time since I've posted....a 2-hour documentary score, plus a TV ad, plus working on my own CD project have all been keeping me from blogging (that, and performing 6-7 nights a week for the fudgies up here for the summer).  The documentary, which airs on PBS this coming October, is entitled "Eisenhower's Secret War", and is about Ike during the cold war years.  Very interesting stuff....even being an American history buff like I am, I learned a LOT about those years I never knew, and found out we were really, really close to armageddon, even though most Americans had no idea....I'll post when the air date is known....

AND, Michelle Chenard and I just won an Emmy for music we did for "Sacrifice & Honor:  A Tribute To Our Northern Michigan Veterans", which aired last November on TV 9&10 in northern Michigan!!  The trophies are on their way northward....never thought I'd ever win an Emmy, to be honest.  I believe it'll be re-broadcast sometime this fall also.  Paints a poignant picture of our local vets coming home, and the inherent problems with readjusting to life at home after being at war.  Thanks to Corey Adkins and Kevin Essebagger (producers) for getting us involved.  Looking forward to the next project with them....and here's hoping that "Eisenhower's Secret War" will garner some accolades as well.  Crossing my fingers....

Speaking of all this music for film, the gist of this blog entry is to express my thanks....to God, and to broadband internet (lol) for allowing me to live here in northern Michigan and still be creative, collaborate with people all over the country/planet, and produce music for just about anything, anywhere.  When I moved here (back in 1999), it wasn't so.  Now, with all the gadgets and connectedness, I'm able to do projects with people in Chicago, New York, Washington, etc., that I'd NEVER have the chance to work with, living here.  I'm so very lucky....

And with that, as I mentioned before, I've been trying to shut down other projects for a few weeks and get a 5 or 6 song CD out by mid-July.  Wish me luck.  Seems like I always take paying jobs (other people's projects) first, but until I'm finished, I'm not going to do so.  Gotta finish this.  SO many of you have been bugging me for years for a studio CD....and to be honest, I'm WAY overdue in getting one out.  Hoping to have this one done soon, and another (possibly full-length/12-13 song CD) out by the end of the year too.  Wish me luck, and if you want, send me an email (pete@petemusic.com) to BUG THE HELL out of me until it's done....;)

And with that said, thanks to all of you for your continued support.  I'll be checking in in the next couple weeks with progress reports on the CD, and on other forthcoming projects too.
